Steps to Accreditation

Discussion And Application Submission

Desk Review by Accreditation Committee

Our internal Accreditation Committee conducts a detailed evaluation of all submitted materials, cross-checking compliance with IMCAC’s global standards and benchmarks.

Institutional Audit (Virtual or On-site)

Depending on the location and modality of the institution (online or physical), IMCAC will conduct either a virtual audit or on-site visit.

Final Review & Accreditation Decision

Following the audit, IMCAC’s board conducts a final review of the institution’s overall performance and compliance.
Possible Outcomes:
Full Accreditation
(valid for 3 years)
Conditional Accreditation (valid for 1 year; improvements required)
Probationary Status (serious deficiencies; re-review within 6–12 months)
Denial of Accreditation

Who is eligible to apply for
IMCAC accreditation?
IMCAC welcomes applications from medical colleges, dental schools, allied health academies, online training providers, alternative medicine institutions, CME/CPD organizers, and other healthcare education centers that offer structured, quality-assured programs.
What is the validity period of IMCAC accreditation?
Full IMCAC accreditation is valid for three (3) years, subject to annual compliance reviews. Institutions must reapply for reaccreditation before the expiry to maintain their status.
Can online or hybrid institutions apply for accreditation?
Yes. IMCAC recognizes the evolving landscape of digital education and accredits online and hybrid medical training institutions, provided they meet standards in curriculum quality, faculty qualifications, learner engagement, and assessment.
How long does the accreditation process take?
The complete process—from application submission to final decision—typically takes 8 to 12 weeks, depending on the responsiveness of the institution and the complexity of the review or audit.
What happens if our application
is not approved?
If accreditation is deferred, your institution will receive a detailed report and guidance for improvement, with the option to reapply in 3–6 months. If declined, you may reapply after 12 months with significant improvements and a new submission.
